Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Welcome to Wallet Tracker. We are committed to protecting your financial privacy. Wallet Tracker is designed from the ground up as a privacy-first, local-first application. This policy explains what information we process, how we secure it, and your rights concerning your personal financial tracking records.
By downloading or using the Wallet Tracker application, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy. We do not sell or monetize your data. Your data is strictly yours.
2. Data We Collect
Because Wallet Tracker is a local-first application, the vast majority of information you input remains stored solely on your device. We collect/process data in the following categories:
- Financial Logs: Account balances, transaction dates, descriptions, categories, subscription logs, bills, split ratios, and savings targets. This information is saved locally on your device's secure SQLite database storage.
- Analytical Device Data: Information like crash logs and anonymous usage trends to keep the app working. This includes device model, OS version, and app performance stats.
- Ad Identifiers: Anonymous mobile advertiser identifiers if you have not opted out, to display contextually relevant promotions.
3. How We Use Data
Your financial ledger data is utilized purely to power the features you interact with in the app:
- Providing cash-flow analysis charts and calculations.
- Notifying you about upcoming subscription renewals and invoice dates.
- Deducting shared balances when splitting bills.
- Generating offline local reports in PDF/CSV format.
We do not collect this ledger data on any central servers, nor do we package it to build commercial user profiles.
4. Security & Encryption
We implement professional industry-grade mechanisms to keep your data secure:
- Local Encryption: Your databases are locked using device-level sandbox protection.
- Encrypted Backups: If you use our optional Cloud Sync feature, all database file chunks are encrypted locally using advanced end-to-end encryption keys before they are uploaded to your personal Google Drive or iCloud storage. We cannot read the contents of these backups.
5. Third-Party Services
To support application updates and provide free services, we integrate a limited set of verified third-party tools:
- Firebase Core & Crashlytics: Used to monitor runtime issues, bugs, and device crashes. All crash reports are anonymized and do not contain individual transaction listings. Refer to the Firebase Privacy Policy.
- Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob): Displays ads within the free edition of the application. AdMob may utilize anonymous IDs to customize ads. Refer to the Google Advertising Policies.
6. Your Rights
As a user of a local-first application, you maintain complete sovereignty over your data:
- Access & Modify: You can view, add, modify, or delete any record at any time in the app screens.
- Full Deletion: You can purge all financial history by tapping "Reset App Data" inside the app's Settings panel, or by uninstalling the application. Uninstallation completely wipes the sandbox database folders.
- Export Data: You can download a complete export copy of all transactions in CSV/JSON format at any time.
